New Policy Effective January 1, 2025

Starting January 1, 2025, Athens Barn Center will no longer accept cash or prepaid credit cards for local U-Haul rentals. This change is being made to ensure that our rental process remains efficient, secure, and fair to all customers.

Why the Change?

Over time, we have encountered challenges with customers not returning rental equipment as promised, causing unexpected delays for others who rely on our U-Haul services. When trucks and trailers aren’t returned on time, it creates a ripple effect, leaving other customers waiting and disrupting our ability to serve the community effectively.

By requiring a standard credit or debit card for all local rentals, we are taking proactive steps to:

✅ Improve equipment availability – Ensuring that rental trucks, trailers, and equipment are returned on time and ready for the next customer.

✅ Reduce unnecessary delays – Preventing unexpected scheduling issues caused by late or missing returns.

What This Means for Our Customers

• If you are renting a local U-Haul, you will need to use a major credit card or debit card at the time of rental.
• Cash and prepaid credit cards will no longer be accepted for local rentals.
• This change does not affect one-way rentals, which already require a valid credit or debit card.
