Do you sell barn garage kits?
No. Athens Barn Center does not sell barn garage kits. Every building we sell comes built. A steel barn garage is put up on your property by the factory crew that builds it, and our in-stock wood and metal buildings arrive already finished on a trailer. You never get a pile of parts and a manual.
Can I put it up myself?
You do not need to, and with our buildings you do not get the option — the crew and the setup are already in the price. If you want to build it yourself, a kit from somewhere else is the honest answer. Just know that you are also pouring the slab, pulling the permit, finding your own engineered drawings, and fixing any leak you find later.
How much does a barn garage cost in Tennessee?
It depends on the size, the roof style, and how many doors you want. A kit looks cheaper up front because that price is only the parts. How do I get a price on a bigger barn garage?
Use the 3D designer to build it exactly how you want it. That designer is on Eagle Carports' website, since Eagle builds our steel buildings, so you will leave athensbarncenter.com to use it. When you are done, hit Submit for Estimate. Your design comes straight to our office in Athens, and we get back to you by end of business or the next business day. Do I need a concrete slab first?
It depends on the building and your spot. Athens Barn Center tells you what your site needs before you order, and we can quote the concrete along with the building. Most kits require you to pour a slab before you start.
Do I need a permit for a barn garage in Tennessee?
That depends on your county — McMinn, Monroe, Meigs, Loudon, Bradley, Roane and Rhea each set their own rules, so call your county office first. You still pull the permit yourself, but certified drawings rated for your county's wind and snow load are available for your building. Kits often do not include those drawings.
How long does it take to get a barn garage?
In-stock buildings on our lots in Athens, Madisonville and Decatur are already built, so they deliver much sooner than a custom order. A custom steel barn garage is built to order, and Athens Barn Center gives you a time estimate with your quote. A kit takes as long as your weekends allow, which for most people turns into months.
Do you deliver to my part of East Tennessee?
Delivery and setup are free within 50 miles of our Athens lot, which covers most of McMinn, Monroe, Meigs, Loudon, Bradley, Roane and Rhea counties. Past 50 miles it is $5 per mile over, and we tell you the exact amount before you buy. Knoxville and Chattanooga both sit outside the free zone, but we deliver to them regularly.
