The honest fit test

Square footage is only the first measurement.

A truthful recommendation considers the usable interior, the opening, the structure under the load, and how a person or machine actually moves through the building.

01

Nominal size is not clear interior size.

An 8×12 label describes the nominal building footprint. Framing, siding, interior finishes, loft supports, and partitions reduce usable dimensions.

02

The door is often the real limit.

Measure the widest part of the mower deck, ATV, motorcycle, tool, or vehicle and compare it with the actual clear opening—then allow room to steer.

03

Vehicle storage needs vehicle-ready construction.

A garage door alone is not enough. Confirm floor or foundation capacity, approach, ramp or slab, ventilation, clearances, and the manufacturer’s approved use.

04

“Tiny home” starts as a shell.

Residential, office, or guest use can require zoning approval, permits, a compliant foundation, insulation, utilities, HVAC, moisture control, fire safety, and emergency egress.

Bring us your measurements. We’ll help you find the fit.
